Gene Chiappetta, Durham Fair President I want to personally thank you all for coming to the fair despite the terrible weather. We have significant areas under cover and what wasn't under cover we tried hard to make as pleasant an experience as possible. Many Fair departments re-arranged presentation and event schedules and scaled up contests and activities to entertain you while you ducked into building for cover. We appreciate The Guess Who for making themselves available for photos and autographs. The Fair volunteers and I will be meeting this week to debrief. Although I will recognize their efforts then, I want to publicly congratulate them for a job well done. Many people enjoy attending the Fair, and many non-profit organizations, including the Fair itself, depend on the Fair for a major part of their funding budget. Thank you, volunteers, none of this would have been possible without your extraordinary efforts. Gene |
