The Guess Who on the Durham Fair Main Stage Saturday, September 27, 7:30pm The Guess Who, the band that became Canada’s first international rock music superstars, began in 1962 as Chad Allen & The Reflections. The group’s first single and album “Shakin’ All Over” sold two million copies and led the band to a U.S. tour as part of Dick Clark’s Caravan of Stars Road Revue and a regular spot on the CBC-TV Show “Where It’s At.” It was the hit “American Woman” from March of 1970 that gave The Guess Who a #1 single in the U.S. and unseated The Beatles for three weeks straight. Their top hits include “These Eyes,” “Laughing,” “No Time,” and “Undun.” Although membership in the group has changed over the years, they have remained musically consistent behind the strengths of original members Jim Kale and Garry Peterson. As they perform hit after hit in concert, it’s easy to see and hear why The Guess Who remain one of today’s most sought after touring attractions. Concert is free with paid fair admission. Enjoy great music under the stars at our outdoor arena. As seating is on our sloped lawn, we encourage you to bring blankets or low-back lawn chairs. Alcohol is prohibited. |
